Coordinate entry

  • For equatorial coordinates, enter right ascension in hours, declination in degrees.
  • For Galactic coordinates, enter longitude and latitude in degrees; the epoch is ignored.
  • For ecliptic coordinates, enter ecliptic longitude and latitude in degrees; the epoch is ignored and the obliquity of the ecliptic for 1950 is adopted.
  • In any system, sexigesimal (e.g., 10 42 27.6) or decimal (e.g., 10.71) notation may be used, but not mixed in the same coordinate pair.
