Research

Theoretical astrophysics, dynamics

Vandervoort's field of research is dynamical astronomy, particularly stellar dynamics. His research has addressed the equilibrium of galaxies, stellar orbits in galaxies, the dynamics of spiral structure, and the oscillations and the stability of galaxies. His most recent work has concentrated nonlinear oscillations of galaxies and on new mathematical methods for the investigation of small perturbations in galaxies.
