AGACSE 2001

General Information

Arrival

By train: Take a taxi from the station direct to Newnham College on Sidgwick Avenue. There are usually plenty of taxis outside the entrance to the station.

By Coach: If you are travelling light you may feel like walking (it will take around 20 minutes, see below for a link to a map). If not, there is a taxi rank just outside the bus station. Ask for Newnham College on Sidgwick Avenue.

By Car: Parking is a major problem in Cambridge. Your best bet is to drive up Grange Road and see if you can park on any of the side roads. You will not need the car during the conference, so it does not matter is you are parked some distance away.

Maps: Detailed maps of the University and the City Centre can be found here. An alternative map of the City Centre can be found here. Other information (including the locations of all the best pubs) will be distributed on arrival.

Registration

On arrival, please go to the registration desk at Newnham College. This will open from 2.00 onwards on the Monday afternoon. Please contact one of the organisers if you intend to arrive before then.

Introduction to Geometric Algebra: From 4.00 on the Monday afternoon Alyn Rockwood and Leo Dorst will run through their highly successful introduction to Geometric Algebra course (as seen at SIGGRAPH). If you are new to the subject this is highly recommended.

Reception: There will be a reception at 6.00 on the Monday evening for all delegates.

Timetable

The conference timetable is now in roughly final form. If there are any problems with the details of your talk, please email Chris Doran. We decided to leave the Thursday afternoon free for an excusrion in Cambrdidge. The Conference Dinner is on the Thursday evening.
