Positions, Distinctions and Activities

Alexander has served on the MERLIN PATT tag, and is chair of the STARLINK software strategy group on "Graphics and Infrastructure".

Baldwin is a member of the PPARC Astronomy Committee.

Duffett-Smith served on the Fellowships and Training panel of the SERC.

Green continues to serve on the DRAO Observing Priorities committee.

Haniff is a member of the ESA Scientific Working Group MOFFIT.

Hewish is a member of the Visiting Committee for the Physics Research Lab., Ahmedabad, India.

Hills served on the Council of the Royal Astronomical Society, the NRAO Visiting Committee, and an NSF panel reviewing US University Radio Astronomy facilities. He is a member of the JCMT Board and chairman of the JCMT Advisory Panel. He is on the Science Advisory Group for ESA's FIRST project and on the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group of the Smithsonian Array Project. He was Chair of a review of the ADAM Support Group for PPARC and has recently joined their Research Assessment Panel.

Kenderdine is Physical Secretary of the Cambridge Philosophical Society.

Mackay won the `Great Energy Predictor shootout' of the American Society of Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Padman is Chair of the JCMT UK TAG of PATT.

Riley followed Duffett-Smith on the Fellowships and Training panel of the SERC.

Saunders was awarded the 1993 William Hopkins prize of the Cambridge Philosophical Society.

Scott is a member of the ISO Management Committee, of the Merlin Steering Committee, and of the Radioastronomy and Space Frequency Committee of the Radiocommunication Agency of the DTI.

Titterington is a member of the Cambridge Astronomy Computing Committee and is Secretary of the Starlink Radio/MM-Wave Software Strategy Group.

Warner is also a member of both the Cambridge Astronomy Computing Committee and the Starlink Radio/MM-Wave Software Strategy Group.

Withington was a member of the JCMT B-band array working group.
