I am a lecturer in the astrophysics group in the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge University. I work on the COAST optical/infrared interferometer in Cambridge and the MRO interferometer in New Mexico. I am also a fellow at Pembroke College, teaching physics.

The picture above is my face reflected in the deformable mirror of the ELECTRA adaptive optics system which I worked on in my previous job at Durham University. This mirror has 76 individually steerable elements whose positions are updated 1000 times a second to correct in real time for atmospheric distortions to astronomical images.
