By “the S4 paper” I assume you mean 2008.12619.pdf (.pdf)?

S4 studies so far do not include map filtering and hence can use the S2HAT library to take partial sky power spectra which have low E/B mixing. This is simply an implementation of the Kendrick Smith algorithm.

For BK analysis the maps are filtered and have missing modes. We thus have to use the considerably more complex “matrix purification” technique. Future S4 studies will use that also.

For PICO you can use any code which includes the Kendrick Smith algorithm. Does this NAMASTER thing which is flavor of the month include it?
