Miriad Peculiarities

• Since January 2007 auto-corrrelations have been added to carma (and miriad). So you might see errors such as these:

% selfcal vis=3c273.vis interval=0.001 refant=9
Selfcal: version 1.0 5-Aug-99
Model is a point source at the observing center
### Fatal Error:  The vis file is not cross correlation data

The solution would be to use select=-auto, except for old reasons the current version of selfcal is not able to use that option. Hence use something like uvcat ... select=-auto,source(...) and run selfcal on the output file from this.
