Educational events or resources in which CARA has been directly involved

• We were involved in the National Science Foundation's Science and Technology Week 1998 since the theme was "Polar Connections."
• southpole.edu, the website from Janice Van Cleave's 1997-98 trip to the South Pole. (Sponsored by CARA, and our education coordinator, Randy Landsberg, went along too.)
• "Live from Antarctica" and "Live from Antarctica 2" were PBS shows that aired in 1994-1995 (1) and 1997 (2). These shows included a live broadcast from the South Pole and substantial lesson plans, still archived on line. Live from the Poles broadcasted in early 1998.
• New South Polar Times. A newsletter produced by the crew at South Pole.

• South Pole Atmospheric Observatory studying the ozone hole and the like.
• Antarctic Network of Unattended Broadband Seismometers (ANUBiS) Project - a dozen seismometers all over Antarctica to learn about the crust and mantle of Antarctica.
• Byrd Polar Research Center, at Ohio State University. Does all sorts of things at both the North and South Poles.
• Coldtech, developing technology that works under the extremely cold arctic/antarctic conditions.
• Discovery Online did a series of shows in summer 1998 about Antarctica, but they appear to have stayed on the coast doing biology, rather than going into the interior of the continent and doing physics, geophysics, or astronomy.
• Computerworld Antarctica.
• Davis Station, Antarctica. They mostly do biology at this station.
• Virtual Antarctica, another biology trip.
