Notes on the design of these web pages

The sources for these web pages are written in XML using Emacs (which is a convenient text editor). They are then transformed into HTML using Apache project XSLT implementation. The end product HTML is designed to fully conform to the current standard as defined by W3C. We also use Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) to make the display of HTML pages as flexible as possible. This means that you can change the way many of the elements on this page look to suit your preference. For example, if you don't like the way links become underlined when you hover the mouse above them, you need to redefine the a.smart class.
