Landecker and Wielebinski (1970) used the Parkes radio telescope to survey the sky at 85 MHz between declinations -25° and +25° with a 3.8° x 3.5° beam. The Centre d'Analyse de Données Etendues group used the original brightness temperature data from the Max Planck Institute for Radioastronomy Survey Sampler site to form a HEALPix format map following the method described in Appendix A of Paradis et al. 2012, A&A, 543, 103, ADS. Their HEALPix map is provided here. LAMBDA made a new version of the FITS file with minor changes to the headers to make them compliant with FITS standards. The units of the map are K brightness temperature, and unobserved pixels are set to a sentinel value of -32768. More details can be found in:"The Galactic Metre Wave Radiation: A two-frequency survey between declinations +25° and -25° and the preparation of a map of the whole sky", Landecker, T. L. and Wielebinski, R. 1970, Aust. J. Phys. Suppl., 16, 1, ADS |
